David J. Bene, M.D., F.A.C.S. has been in private practice in York since 1994. As a result of his extensive training he provides state of the art medical and surgical treatments for ophthalmic diseases including glaucoma, cataract, medical retina, and oculoplastics.
David J. Bene, M.D., F.A.C.S. is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Ophthalmology, He has co-authored multiple articles in the peer reviewed ophthalmic literature, delivered numerous lectures and authored a chapter in a glaucoma textbook entitled Clinical Pathways in Glaucoma (Thieme Press - 2004). In addition he has presented scientific posters to American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology (AAPOS) and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). He is a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and Surgical Center of York.
Dr. Bene is married and a father of one son. He plays the piano and his favorite composers are Bach, Chopin, Mozart, Rodgers/Hart and Mancini. He is an active participant in watersports including long distance swimming and sailing.
